Correct Tire Pressure Improves Your Ride - Bicycle tires work best when properly inflated. Check the label on the tire to find the range of recommended pressures. For off-road tires, lower psi helps smooth rough terrain, and higher pressures increase efficiency on smoother surfaces. Don't go below the minimum or you increase the risk of a flat. Pressure too high will have you bouncing out of control on every bump in the trail. Road riders on super-smooth pavement can decrease rolling resistance with higher pressures. For rougher roads, reduce the pressure. For any type of riding, your weight, speed, and the surface conditions affect what pressure is best.
